Hi guys,
Here's an article I wrote covering the basics of Databending in Audacity:

Hope some of you find it useful
Bram and his friends at smartelectronix.com once made a competition.
People could only use sounds and processing from their plugins. But interestinggly, people were encouraged to use the plugin files themselves as sources of sound - by converting data to sound, just as you suggest in your article.
The contest is long finished, but you can read the rules here:
http://smartelectronix.com/competitionRules.php
download and/or listen to the entries here:
http://smartelectronix.com/competitionResults.php?selected=compRes
If there is interest, we could do a remake of this contest as a Dare. Or something similar... or whatever...
My first experiments with the Databending technique used all Smart Electronix .dll files. I'd be very interested in doing something similar, let's get something going...
I'll have a think and message you soon
ok, i got bored and did one-not sure this is what you all had in mind but dang is it fun.

Hey Laura, this is cool.
You should post to Freesound.
Posting the link here again, since it got a bit messed up in your post.
