Please bring it back. This site was making me happy because of it's 2000s Ui and not this disgusting, modern, flat, ulgy, terrible new UI.
The old site is not coming back, and they are not budging on the issue! These complaint threads are getting annoying. Where were all of you months ago when I spoke up? It's too late now. There's nothing to do but deal with it or take an active part in the present discussions so that you can request features and shape the new UI. Suggestions and changes are being taken in and implemented pretty quickly. Give it a try!
@strangehorizon you know what's more annoying than the complaints? the new UI. it's truly awful. i will not be using freesound any longer because this professional tool has been turned into a toddler toy.
Thanks for your comments, did you have a look at the list of new features here https://freesound.org/help/faq/#what-are-the-new-features-brought-by-the-new-user-interface? You will see that there are many changes designed to improve the user experience and to bring new tools to professionals (like the spectrogram view). Hopefully you might find things there that can help you in the new Freesound experience. The basic workflow however for sound downloaders remains unchanged, and the frontpage/search/sound detail pages work in the same way. It is true that the default search page needs more vertical scrolling to see the results, but you can also use the grid mode and you'll see even more results than with the old UI without scrolling.
Also, as a general comment about all the negative feedback we're getting, I would like to say that I understand it is hard to adapt to these changes, specially when they come all of a sudden. The truth is that the first public beta for the new UI started almost 2 years ago. Many people participated in it and provided feedback and we made improvements. @strangehorizon has contributed countless suggestions and I can tell you that he's the first who strongly criticised the new UI like you're doing now. During the public beta we've had to deal with a lot of negative feedback (and I would say also a lot of hate), but a similar thing happened when we released the Freesound 2 UI in 2011. We're totally fine with criticism, but constructive criticism works much better than just saying something is "horrible". I think this is why @strangehorizon says these complaint threads are becoming annoying. And I agree. Some of these threads (not this one in particular) are disrespectful to the people behind Freesound and can be even considered as breaking our terms of service. So far we've taken no action and all threads have been approved and remain in the forum, because we also want people to know that some users don't like the new UI. Instead what we always tried to do is to redirect the conversations to something constructive.
Where is option to bring back old, sleek ui? Im not interesed in "new featrues", im interested in sounds, and old design was way more readable. Tags were in right place, sound info was present and in right place... just give us option in profile settings to switch to old interface, please.

You spelt ugly wrong lmao, also unless you are a tryhard forumer I don't see why you have to complain about a ui for a place to just get sounds for free.
