I haven't seen this reported yet, so; For some reason, Freesound.org has been blacklisted in Opera browsers, according to Opera 'as source of malware'. I don't know where on Earth they get their security information from, but I'd suggest that something is done to this issue before the rep of freesound project is damaged. Just checked; The info can't be Symantec's secure web service, they list you properly as 'safe'.
I know it's safe site, but big red warning like that will likely turn new users away - and that would be a shame.
Yeah I got that fake "system scanner" antivirus scan scam with the grammatically incorrect warning
when I clicked on Freesound links via IE browser, (which I rarely use*).
You can see a full screengrab of the fake antivirus horror here.
Here is a screengrab of the URL I was redirected to when I clicked on a Freesound link.
It is possibly an XSS attack via flash, i.e. make sure your browser's flash plug-in is up to date,
( * flash in my IE was almost a year out of date).
Check your Java plug-in too ... http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/topics/security/javacpujune2011-313339.html
If you have FireFox you can check your plugins are up to date here ... http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/
I use IE and I was getting the fake virus thing (and only at freesound) - until i updated Java. all seems to be good now.
FWIW, no problem here just now accessing freesound.org using Opera 11.10 in Linux (OpenSUSE 11.4 x86_64). (IMHO, Opera quality and usability has gone down too much since 9.x so I don't use it regularly and wouldn't have noticed if there was a problem earlier, I just fired it up this time to check access to this site.)

Oh, it's working again! Splendid.

You can see a full screengrab of the fake antivirus horror.Actually it wasn't like that; It was shown as a threat first in main browser view and if you chose to ignore it, it still kept it 'red flagged' at the URL bar. It seemed pretty legit warning, no typos or anything. Oh well, it's gone now.
Hi guys,
There was a problem with malware on Freesound's side and Opera recognized this correctly. We fixed the problem last week. I hope not too many people were affected!
Indeed, I'd tend to think of a site like freesound as safe, but especially for a very dynamic site such as this there's always the possibility that something gets compromised... Gan canny, folks.
Sorry for hijacking this topic a bit, but it could've simply been the spam we regularly get in the forum that caused the blacklist. Has freesound ever considered using sites like http://www.stopforumspam.com/? Sure there must be some plugin available for the community to benefit from this site. Other than that I cannot see any other way than renaming the submit button "Reset", and vice versa. This way we'd prevent most bots to sign on.
