Hello,
I often find myself transmitting directives such as "use an excerpt of sample #12345 from Freesound, from t1 to t2", where t1 and t2 have to be fairly precise. And having to download the sound and open it in Audacity just to be able to see a precise time scale just seems like a waste of time. Wouldn't it be possible for the "measure" function to display time alongside dB power?
Browsing through this thread http://www.freesound.org/forum/bug-reports-errors-and-feature-requests/90/ looking if anyone had already asked for this, I've seen a link to this page that was, a year ago or so, displaying the new freesound player prototype: http://media.freesound.org/files/newplayer/. And that prototype does exactly what I'm asking for here... Any reason why it wasn't included in the version now on the site?
Best regards, and kudos for the amazing tool you've created.
Thanks for your answer; unfortunately, I've already tried that and it's not quite precise enough when what you need is about 1/10s precision... But I've been thinking: is the prototype player that you demoed on the page I mentioned 100% usable? Or at least 95%? If so, I guess I could try to build custom result pages using it instead of the standard one, with data retrieved using the Freesound API.
