dob, did you try zooming in?
that's what the slider on the left is for...
however, for europe, that's a mighty fine resource you have there!!!
(I think google maps for europe will become the same quality, but it will take a while)

Was able to get a few locations in but am experiencing some probs. In IE when you input the Lat and Long from Google Earth it doesn't pick it up and displays "error on page". It also threw one location way off and there's no way to retag it.
Aight got it all sorted out in IE...thanx for the help Bram. I didn't doo all of the sounds...just the 1st one in each pack. Would be nice if you could geo the pack as well as individual sounds.
Bram
for some weird reason Internet Explorer decides to rename the *.kml to *.xml (HUH???) when you download it. If you just rename it to *.kml again it'll work. But, the geotagging on freesound doesn't work with IE anyway right now.

It also renamed it to .xml in firefox on my laptop.....?
Tagged a couple of mine too,
A little feature req, adding lat and long in one go, which would save me a whole ctrl-c ctrl-v (by this i mean that i dont think anybody would say this is a top priority request
Damn nice work on the new feature bram!
Wow! I love the interface! Thanks so much for implementing this!
Not that Ive got any field recordings.....and I probably won't ever make any either ops: ...But I just thought this would be a great feature for other users....
However I am still having the same problems with google earth.....
Im confused...is the file meant to be .kml or .kmz?
im probably doing something stupid
Bram
yeah, it's as I thought: you didn't zoom in at all
google has the maximum zoom level data available for the points you chose, dobroide.
I added a feature to the map which is "Pan + Maximum zoom", try it with your points.- bram
Got it, I have now added at maximum zoom (fireworks.wav). Dude, you can see the very spot were the fireworks thing happened by Puente de Triana, Sevilla... amazing!
I wonder, uhhhh.... do we want this information to be readily available? If an unknown agency wanted to get rid of all those sound geeks out there with guided missiles... (by the way, I tagged the firework place, not where I recorded it from, am I being paranoid???
Now seriously, locating sounds in space is a very nice idea, but even if you tagged a moderate number of samples, the results must be clouds of points (samples) separated by hundreds of km (because of spatial autocorrelation, or clumpiness if you wish). I mean the outcome would be a world map of sound-collectors, rather than a map of sounds of the world

Yeah, that's true, but still, given enough people who help, we might get a nice community!
And it also means that we're geolocating ourselves in a way - which is really nice!
I mean, RHumphries comes from the US, I bet, Sonic from Canada, Jorn is in Spain, Anton is in holland.
