The site's search function really needs to have a "Search by Name" option.
I always run into this problem where I have a sound that I downloaded a few days ago and want to find more sounds by the person who created it.
So I type in the current sound thinking that once its found it will tell me who created it and I can then see any other sounds made by this person.
But the majority of the time I get "No files found...".
Here is a perfect example:
Today while browsing the site I found and downloaded this sound 48496__dobroide__20080216.hum.00
I then typed it in to see if it would find it and the search turns up "No files found...".
NO FILES FOUND...I just downloaded this 10 minutes ago hock:
I then typed it in again and selected all the search boxes and this is what I got:
Did you mean 48496__Brodie__20080216.hum.00
So I play along and typed in 48496__Brodie__20080216.hum.00,selected all the search boxes and guess what..."No files found...".
We need to have an be able to have an Exact Name Option so that the search will find the exact file.
The current FileName option does not work properly.
the id of the file you downloaded is the nr at the start of the filename. So, 48496
1. Advanced search options > Search for a particular file ID > 48496
2. http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/samplesViewSingle.php?id=48496 <- see the ID
3. http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/usersDownloads.php?id=161066 <- all the files you downloaded
