Ability to follow users, and like sounds. Currently have to download or rate a sound, but no ability to like or follow. Also, beyond this, the ability to have lists for users and lists for sounds. Would be awesome sauce!

I agree with this.

Sometimes I would like updates when a new sound has been uploaded (and gone through moderation) from users that I have decided to follow.

This would be a great feature.

Or the ability to follow a cirtain key word or phrase without having to search for it over and over

There's already a vote-scoring system, which people barely use.
I agree that subscription on other members' activities and specific tags, but I really hope we can keep this as far away from Facebook and Twitter as possible and anything "social". The features requested by OP do not seem social as in social services so I'm afraid that's a misnomer.

"Follow users" would be really helpful!
Lists for sounds and people would be great to.

Yeah, I hope they do this. It would be EXTREMELY helpful.
