A recent question in the forums led me to look up the flexatone (here are some not-free samples http://www.audiomicro.com/tracks/search/exact_phrase:flexatone/rootcat:3/)
But surprise, surprise, surprise. There aren't any available here at the freesound project. (at least none that come up in a search for flexatone or flextone....)
Does anyone have one they could record for the freesound project?
Flexatone?...
Is it something like this, but made of metal?

...these types of instruments are called idiophones(a very wide category including pretty much anything solid without strings or membrane that vibrates sound).Perhaps the vibraslap (also mostly made of wood) sounds closer to the flexatone...
