I wonder how many moderators are in this site, as for what happens to me, I know that it might be happening or happened with many other users. This is not a complain, it's just a note for the moderators. A site as huge and with such a quality as this, needs attention through the whole day, for new tracks and new threads to be approved. In my case, I've posted a new thread on Sample requests by yesterday's morning and by the time I'm writing this, it's 23:19 p.m. I still don't know if my thread was approved or denied, but I'm kind of in a hurry with the request that I made in there. It's really important! And from this and the time from when new threads are approved, I believe that there's a lack of moderators in this site. I'd suggest to the FSteam to fix this. A good idead would be, taking in care the hours of the day on the moderator's geographic position and that they've a life, the FSteam could build a few teams of moderators so that through 24h this site wouldn't be left without any support. The mods don't need to be here all systematically, but being a moderator has it's own responsabilities, I bet, and between uploads and new threads, I doubt anyone will ever get online what they just submited in the same day. I've seen many kind of websites, where people upload things, with moderators monitoring the contents, but I have never seen such a delay. I mean, as a user, I want to use the tools that this site offers, as so I would like to take the oppurtunities given in here, to find better people with much experience in sound effects, to help me out as my experience is still only covering the visual, animation, editing productions. For that, I would like to ask them to do some samples for me, and as I'm quite in a hurry, being approved 2 days after I posted the thread and even have to see my topic in the middle of the page as there seems to be much recent topics them mine on top, it kind of blows up all the work I've done this far, and the opportunity of someone finding my topic and try to make me those samples.
I hope we can all agree that this is a common problem. It's not anyone fault, it's just lack of control from the team (I think so)?
PS: I couldn't even post this thread by this current time as: "We're sorry but you can't post to the forum because you have previous posts still pending to moderate." which means that: 1. I can't make another thread. 2. By the time it will be accepted and published, my thread should begin with: In ancient times but not too far from our own... or you've a another option: use another email you've to create a new account to create the threads that you were not able to with the other account as you were still waiting.
PSS: If any moderator will atually read this thread, he can deny it and delete as my purpose is to state my opinion and report them about this "problem", not to create any thread to generate trouble to them, but If they don't read this, than why are we waiting for approval?
I'm a bit confused.
Casprom_Reikings, you have exactly one post on the freesound forums. You have downloaded zero sounds, zero packs, made zero comments on people's sounds and have been a member for 3 days, 20 hours.
Yet you write a HUGE post complaining about us being too slow.

As you ask, my original account it's called CaspromVX, has 8 months and 1 week.
The FSteam, I describbed is an abbreviation for FreeSound refering to it's Team of mods and admns that keep this site.
Yes I do write a huge complainement because I don't believe I would make myself clear with 3 lines, and also because I know I'm not the only one who has complained about this and won't be the last.
Yep, I don't have uploaded any sounds as I have no equipment to create them. Simply sayin': I'm here for busyness. To discover great sound designers. My experience only covers visual, animation, editing, directing, writing... and as I was going to say on a new thread on the Forum Production techniques, which I had to save the text for creating the thread later after that one would be approved, I'm looking forward for starting to learn how to work on the audio and sound creation part of the world. But if you mentioned the sound uploads because I've also pointed out the time that users have to wait for it to be approved, I say that I'm not ignorant and I've been checking this forum and seen many users creating threads on complainment about that.
I don't want you to take this by heart, I simply wonder if you don't feel that the people in this site are affected by this situation, and if you wouldn't wish you could do something about that, or at least anyone else.

Ah so http://www.freesound.org/forum/sample-requests/34006/ ( one forum post, 18 sound downloads, member for 8 months, 1 comment, 1 rating - yes, I have the power to see all those things )
Well, again I'll repeat what I've said before: only the first post of new users is moderated and only if it contains URLS in it. This is to stop the massive amount of spam bots we've had in here (posting 1000ds of posts). We now effectively stop about 99% of them with this very simple measure.
Sure, the number of people moderating these forum posts is relatively small, so you might have to wait a few days. The people who do forum moderation and the people who do sound moderation are a different group of people. We've actually never had any complaints about the forum moderation only about the sound moderation. We know the sound moderation is a process we will have to change eventually as the site grows even larger, but the forum moderation might just need a few more people.
And again, you have one forum post for which you had to wait a few days (versus 1000ds of spam messages not getting through). I'd say people who have to wait for a week to get their uploads through moderation have more to complain about.
Sorry if I sound a bit harsh/blunt/brutish, but in general people who only take from freesound and not give back (yet!) are always treated much harder by me than people who upload. Join in the discussions, rate some (more) sounds, comment on some (more) sounds, become and active member and we'll show you all the love you ever wanted.

Sounds Bram like you're getting older.

But, Bram tells that love is in the air!!
Right - First of all: I am not associated with the Freesound development / site admin team.
So I do not speak for or on behalf of Freesound. My comments are mine alone and their are wqorth only that.
Freesound... So what does exactly "Free" mean? And what do you get for "Free"?
It is free because you do not have to pay for it: to be a member, upload, download, comment, use the forums... All free.
It also means that the guys moderating the sounds you upload do it for FREE. - MEaning they don't get paid to do it. They give their time for free so that everyone can use and enjoy freesound.
That is the FREE part of the deal. Now, the FREE comes at a COST:
- the cost in time for those who moderate the sounds
- the cost in time for those who have to wait to see their sounds moderated.
We believe the benefit of having these resources available for free outweights the inconvenience of a small wait.
But that, really is how it works.
You can probably get faster service in paid sites. And you can pay a sound engineer to design your dream sound or a voice artist to record your voice samples and get it faster.
Yyyy... mmm... eee... I was just talking about the moods?
