Sorry for vague title. Wasn't sure what to call the problem. I am a newb, so I don't know if this has been discussed or not.
But, I've uploaded a few sounds. I understand that sounds must be moderated first. But, I previewed two of my sounds that have NOT been moderated, and all I hear is a swift pop/screech sound. I checked the files on my computer and they play fine and how they are supposed to. So why do they sound broken/corrupted on FreeSound? And I want to delete them, but I can't since they haven't been moderated. Do I have to wait until the moderation is complete to delete or what?
You should have received emails that start with "[freesound] A freesound moderator handled your upload" telling you about sounds that moderators asked questions about.
Sometimes these are delayed, caught by spam filters(?) or not noticed by users though.
I'm not sure what can cause corrupted files but I would assume that having a false file name ending might be it. Can you find out with tools on your computer whether the files which you uploaded and ended up being corrupted are in fact of the file format which the file name ending tells?
Hope this helps.
Oh yah what type of file was it: mp3, wav, wma, ogg, Etc
One of the file was .wav. Most of the files are .mp3. I tried uploading a few sounds today and only ONE had the correct preview and all the others were damaged. And all the files I uploaded today are in .mp3 format. I don't understand why one works while the others don't. Is there a certain file type that is best to use? If so, which one should I use/convert to?
I haven't checked my email, but I'll do that to see what they say, if anything.
But all of my files are okay. I play them on my computer using several different media players (VLC, Windows, Realplayer) and they all play correctly.
Ok because if it was wma. It wouldn't work at all so don't ever upload those but maybe convert it with this.

and copy or screenshot the information shown (example: http://i.imgur.com/hqXBQdT.png)?
It could be that the encoding is not supported or that the file has a file ending that does not match the encoding.
