I can now confirm that the length of the file does not fall into the criteria for acceptable processing. The maximum file size for a single upload is 1 Gigabyte.
If you want to avoid a sound failing processing, upload a single file at a time within 1GB file size.
Hope this information helps.
Those 200 minutes are exactly my problem. That sound is only 599 Gb but each try to upload failed. The sound is 525 minutes long on my computer and remained 200 minutes on freesound.
So I'm still asking how can I upload longer sound than a 200 minutes?

I see that you uploaded your sound, but to me it looks like its much shorter than 9 hours.Around 200 minutes
Did you mean "Mb" and not 599 "GB"?
You will have to try and truncate the audio file. Try compressing the file size down more by choosing a bitrate less than what you have currently.
OR - split the recording into several files and upload them as parts.
Uploading large file can be done by switch to non-flash version. Bottom of the up-load page.
Works fine.
Flash doesn't work for large files.
What is the actual maximal size limit, or what am I doing wrong?
I've tried 4 times without success to upload a 990,000 MB large file to Freesound of a recording in 48 khz sampling rate and 24 bits solution.
I'm a bit frustrated, because the size limit is observed of 1 GB. However the upload goes wrong each time. I have tested with latest version of Edge, Chrome and Firefox. I have 50 Mbits symmetrical fiber connection to the internet.
I proceed as follows:
1. Open freesound.org and login in Google Chrome.
2. On the Uploads page I drag the file to upload area.
3. When the file name is stated on the page I press the Upload button.
4. Progress bar and Abort button appear.
5. I wait for a very long time approximate 30 minutes.
6. "Something wwent wrong" appears.
I hope somebody can help me, before I have to cut off and convert the sound to 16 bits 44,1 khz and cut out interesting peaces of the sound.

The file size limit for uploads is indeed 1 Gigabyte, the duration is only limited to this file size.
As User Klankbeeld hinted, there are two versions of the upload portal, flash and non-flash. Have you tried both methods?

Thanks for the answer!
I use the non-flash version, because I don't have a flash player installed.
I have succeeded with a 656,6 MB large file. That's why I ask for the real upload file size limit, because 995,5 mega bytes doesn't seem to work.
Can it be a busy server problem so cache and other resources are not available for a very large file?

Hi,
The max upload size is 1024 MB so it should work fine. Sometimes big files take some time to copy from one place to another and this causes problems at upload time.. I'm wondering if this is the problem in your case. Can you please share the file with me (send me private message and some download link) so I can investigate and put the file in place if needed? Thanks!

I've shared the file plus another one that also wouldn't upload. The files are on my Google drive. I'm looking forward to hear from you.
Hi,
Thanks for sharing the files. I did some testing and I can reproduce the error in a semi-random way. A long-term fix will be issued at some point in the future, but meanwhile I recommend that if uploading big files does not work directly you share the files with me and I'll copy them to the server. One thing that might work is to try to upload the final a number of times in a row and it should eventually work, but if you don't have fast internet connection this could be a pain in the ass.
Anyway, @janrou you're files should now be listed in your describe page (https://freesound.org/home/describe/).
