I believe forum posts from new users are moderated before they are allowed to go onto the freesound forums. This is a measure to prevent spam (following the Korean spamming in April or an incident with a user posting threads relating to his fan made films featuring a certain video game character, which of course do not belong on freesound)
Exactly.
A short post saying "I have made this and I have used some sounds from Freesound" is all good.
Credit should be given on the actual work (it is actually a requirement of all CC licenses, except CC0).
You can also mention the sounds used on your post here (but you don't have to).
You can also message the users or comment on their sounds telling them you used their sound and maybe give them a link (you don't have to. But many people appreciate it).
On the other hand, 3 page long posts with detailed descriptions of what happens in your movie, or of the next movie you are going to make are likely to result in account deletion.
Or let me put it even more bluntly: will result in account deletion (because certain members of this community will make sure that is the case).

And there are forums on the internet dedicated to pretty much anything.
There is a time and place for everything. How would you lot feel if I started 3 page posts about my stamp collection?
@!$£!$*&@^!£$!
For what it's worth, as a newbie to sound recording, I find it quite reassuring that someone checks what I've uploaded. I've got 3 sounds awaiting moderation from 9 days ago. Does it matter? No. It'll just be an excuse to have have a party when they finally break out

9 days!?
Who has your uploads? Haven't seen them in the queue.
Check to see if you've got any notes on the tickets.
Edit: I just took your sounds from another mod's queue and approved them. I don't know what they were holding the uploads for, the sounds were absolutely fine. Apologies for having to wait so long.
My sound is awaiting moderation for 10 days now... It's interesting - my latest sound was uploaded yesterday and was approved a couple of hours ago. But the sound mentioned is awaiting moderation for 10 days.
Mods pull sounds from the general queue into their personal queue for moderation. Then they review the sounds one by one and either approve / reject / contact uploader for more info.
Maybe one of the mods is away for holiday and did not completely clear his personal queue.
Me and the other mods will have a look and see if we can fish the sounds that have been pending because of that.

Thank you!
Yeah I think qubodup is away, I haven't heard from him in a while. I found John's sounds in his queue which had been unmoderated (no action on the ticket). This isn't something I'd expect from him, he's usually very on the ball; strange.
@VlatkoBlazek - All your sounds should be approved now. I transferred one pending to my queue. Sorry about the delay. I must find out what happened to qubodup.
@John - You're welcome

It's been forever before I got my whitelist facility.
Now I know why I slept so badly all this time.😊
Oh wow!
It could be that sound was semi lost and an updated processing code made it re-appear.. Or maybe because of some bug the sound never appeared until now. I’ll investigate… Do you want this sound to be approved btw?
