Firstly, I'd like to say, I love Freesound!
Now, I was searching for things for work, placeholders mostly, but SFX and foley and was wondering if there was a way to search or even browse packs people have made?
Not sure this second thing exists, but being able to make a custom bin or a pack on "your" profile to more easily dwnld a zip of files rather than one at a time?
Not sure if this is helpful or doable, but I would definitely find it helpful!
Thanks for listening!

First of all, to browse packs click on "packs" on the right sidebar when you are in the sound browse page. It will take you to this page:
http://www.freesound.org/browse/packs/
Alternatively, you can browse a user profile and then again on the right there will be an icon which lets you view the pack (if there are more sounds in a pack that is)
Secondly, You can't save sounds in a collection and download all as a zip. You can download a pack someone has made as a zip file, with all license information included. You can however save individual sounds to 'bookmarks' and then proceed to download individually from the bookmarks page once you have your collection made. This is part of the list on the 'home' tab.
soooooooo... there's a box for "search in pack names"
a "browse packs"
.... but NO SEARCH PACKS feature? I keep thinking it must be somewhere, and that I'm just missing it, because that's the only way a person could be expected to search through like what, fifteen thousand packs trying to find a specific one? there just isn't time in the day to do that
Really, it's kind of annoying to have to use google to find packs I'm interested in.
Why can't I just search packs......? clearly the code is there in some form or another if it's in the advanced search options to search PACK NAMES. why doesn't just make it return results that are PACKS, instead of individual sounds.

The search does return packs. The default search method is to group sounds by pack, therefore when you search without changing any filters you are searching for packs; or more specifically sounds with matching terms which may be in a pack with similar sounds.
Furthermore, if you search for something, on the right hand side will be a list of the packs in the search results.
Thread is pretty old but I've got the same issue, I'd like to be able to search just the packs.

You can use the advanced search to include pack names only with your query.
