When playing sounds in Chrome, some pretty annoying artifacts are audible in the form of beeps and glitches.
I double-checked this problem in Safari, but the artifacts not audible when playing the same sounds in Safari.
To prove my point, I recorded playing the following sound in Safari and Chrome while recording the output directly with Soundflower: http://freesound.org/people/Anoesj/sounds/345241/. I uploaded that recording to Dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/s/w7dfy9ph95qrqxc/freesound%20problem%20chrome.wav?dl=1
The first round the sample plays, it's playing in Safari. You can hear compression artifacts, but that's fine, it isn't very disturbing. The second round, it's playing in Chrome. You'll hear beeps and glitches all over the place.
I never had this problem before.. I'm using Chrome v50.0.2661.94 (64-bit) on OSX Yosemite (MacBook Pro Retina 15", mid 2014).
