Minor point really, just curious.
For the last week or so on my Homepage my geotag Google map has been replaced with a "Sorry we have no imagery here." message. If I zoom or pan the map it comes back. Other users maps I've checked show fine first time.
Deleted cookies & browser cache & no difference. (I'm using firefox 52.8(latest) for old WinVista so might just be a victim of self-inflicted obsolescence, but I've no desire to spend the next ten weeks trying to coax a new operating system to behave the way I like it... Mutter mutter grumble grumble!!)
I'd guess it's something changed at Google rather than freesound; Google seems to catch me out by changing something just about every week.
Any thoughts?
Wibby.
Hahaahaa...
Well the above problem is history since Freesound seems to have moved from Google to mapbox.
Interestingly I now live inside an impressionist painting.
Not complaining; I quite like it here. I can imagine I'm listening to anime birds & Studio Ghibli winds.

I hope you enjoy the new maps! We wrote about it in our blog post today: https://blog.freesound.org/?p=859
Of course, I'm sure you know that the best way to improve your geotag map would be to upload some new sounds a bit further away so that the map zooms out a bit!
If you have any feedback on how we could show this data in a better way we would be happy to listen.
Thanks for the info alastairp. You guys/gals are doing an amazing job.
I'm sure over time mapbox will fill in the gaps. I'll watch out and give the plane a wave.

Unfortunately my (portable?) recording gear weighs 15kilos and needs plugging into 240v so I don't tend to carry it around in my pocket. I might invest in a mains extension lead
Since I live in a surreal world anyway the maps forms and colours actually make me feel quite at home.
