I see a LOT of comments from new users asking if CC0 sounds are free/okay to use. I think perhaps some color-coded iconography would help. Instead of the white "creative commons" banner we have now, we would have a green one for CC0 that says "100% FREE" and so on. Something like this:
Alternately, when a user signs up, they could be shown a quick guide to the licenses, though I don't think this would be as effective.
Hi,
Thanks for the suggestion. In the new UI there is a short explanation of things that can be done below the license name at every sound page (together with the CC icon). I think this can be useful. I like the idea to give some information about CC licenses when registering. Maybe this could be displayed to new users the first time they log in or something like that.
Sounds like a good idea I know I've often wondered what licences are needed for certain sounds like I had to click the CC link that said attribution ..once I realised i could find out from there then I saved it but I think maybe even as suggested above, you could implement a colour system to show what is cc licenced needed for such sounds ..ie agree green for 0 and so forth and intro is a good idea links to the Cc info
