I'm working on a thesis about the problems that can be encountered with the sound files on the Freesound website, and automatically detecting these problems.
Up to the present, I've worked on problems like:
- clipping,
- clicks and pops,
- discontinuity,
- hum noise,
- unnecessary gaps,
- asymmetrical waveforms.

You can share the sound problems you encounter while using the sounds on this site.

Another issue:

Low bit-rate lossy encoding artefacts; the characteristic "warbling" sound that accompanies it.

Over-agressive noise reduction/gating.

Cut off too soon at end before natural decay/ambient tail has finished.

Zerø problems, this site is awesome.
