I have a question.
I have something like six files uploaded already. Most of them are of my voice reading out poetry.
Trouble is, when I try (with the FTP uploader) to upload something else, like the thunderstorm I recorded the other day or some birdsong, it looks like the system isn't accepting new files any more.
Have I broken the system or something?
Same thing here. Using CoreFTP I uploaded a small wav file.
Transfer seemed to be successful but I am no techie so don't know if I just missed something.
Went back to the site to descirbe my file, but site tells me I haven't uploaded anything yet. WUWT?
Yup. Still here.
It looks as if my sound files eventually got uploaded after all. They just had to await moderation or something.
Maybe now I'll get back to recording sounds again.
Thanks to all who helped me here.
Ah yes, I see. You know, all uploaded sounds go through moderation, meaning there's a real, live human listening to all uploaded sounds to see (or hear) if they're not obvious copyright infringements. That process takes time and therefor your uploaded files will not appear immediately online. But if you wait one or two days, you'll see it most likely got through just fine.
Of course, you need to describe your files properly too. Too short or weird descriptions also have a good chance of being rejected.
Also it says FOR EVALUATION ONLY.
Yes but it works.
Once you have it on screen, click on Connect and fill in your password, then click on OK.
Then navigate your files on the left, pick the ones you want to upload and click on the arrows pointing to the right and a copy will upload.
After you have uploaded, remember to describe the files or they will not reach moderation.
Welcome to Freesound.
Hope this helps.
i definitely agree that it takes too long for those "real" people to confirm/ check those files before they appear on the website. Who's got the time to do that anyway?? no, just kidding now but seriously, TO PEOPLE HANDLING THIS STUFF!!! please, improve it! it is annoying and i'm not sure if I'm ready to upload anything anymore if I have to wait FOR DAYS!!! for a single sample to...finally appear on my profile.
