The spam seems to be getting out of hand, which is mildly annoying for us all, and I would imagine hard work for the mods.
Can I suggest, as soon as is practical, a "Mark user as spammer" button on each post entry. If (say) 5 different members who have each been on freesound for more than (say) 6 months click the button then the Account and all posts are automatically hidden until a mod can delete the offender?
I think we would all be responsible policemen and police women, so I don't see the function being used as a weapon in any flame warfare, and it might make the moderator's job easier.
Any thoughts?

If one person had multiple Freesound accounts they could unilaterally nuke a post.
How about initially limiting posters to 1 post per hour, i.e. a delay of an hour must pass before the person can make a second post.
It would then take a spammer hours to fill the Freesound forum (~10 posts) as has been happening recently. If they were persistent enough to try this their posts and account could be deleted long before they would have enough time to complete this pointless task.
Decrease the delay the more posts a person has made so legitimate frequent posters are not inconvenienced by the delay, say reduce the delay by 10 minutes for every post the person has made.
[ dont delay the editing of a post, i.e. don't count an edit of an existing post as a new post].
There would have to be an hour delay between joining Freesound and being able to make a post, otherwise the spammers could open multiple accounts to avoid the delay.
That delay would be annoying, but it's not as bad as other forums which have a 24hour delay between membership and first post..
Anything that slows them down would be welcome. Sometimes the posts appear faster than they can be deleted.
I think things might be better in the next version of freesound.
the forum will be replaced by a hand-coded forum.
