Great song cyberworm - but they said no creative effects - no pitch shifting, reverbs, etc.Next time - don't give such limitations people - it is better to use everything we can!
Hi there.
The whole idea of no too much effects or manipulation it's to keep the feeling of the original recordings. I mean, really, i can take one 2 seconds sample and manipulate it to get like a whole drumkit from it, then load it in battery and perform a marvelous breath-taking idm rythmic layer. Then i get like 0.01 seconds of the sound, i repeat it 2000 times i add resonance and reverb and i i have a pad to load on a sampler, like kontakt, and play melody with it.
I could make such an awesome song.
But it wouldn't sound at all like the original, i could do that with any sound, from a fart to synthetic sound, from forest&birds field recording to orgasms.
We believe that the original material we recorded is quite unique. We would like to see what freesounders can do with such an unique material. It's a challenge. Doing what i just described to this sounds is not really that challenging.
Rythm is more than ok, but those sounds have their own rythmic patterns that can be used (and have been used already on some examples)
I mean, i don't think Bram is going to care about a bit of reverb, binaural manipulation, even some chorus or a certain good use of much more hard effects like granulating, IF those manipulations are (let me make an internal joke) not a "substantial part of your derivative work".
Just try to do something creative with the sounds, listen to them and extend their particularities into a composition.
And i'll stfu now.
Thank you very much for your submissions. Keep em going!
Best wishes.
Understood & accepted! Your point is even more clear now! If some slight effects like reverb and chorus, etc. are accepted its even better... But I did it the raw way anyway... Best regards to all.

That's better - Here's my first contribution to a Freesound remix comp. Three Caixa samples cut to ribbons in Audacity and reassembled in AudioMulch.
