Hi guys and girls

This is the place to post questions, comments ot complaints relating to Dare #6.

Use this thread to ask questions, post reviews of other people's submissions, etc.

I'll repeat my question (and the answer) here - so that it can be deleted from the other thread (reserved for dare submissions...)

Q - Is it us "ONLY" freesounds?
A - Yes. Keeps it challenging.

(that's the answer I expected, but thought I should ask, just the same...)

Congratulations on being the first !

I see you posted links to all the samples used. That is great. Makes it eaasy to check they all comply with the rules.

I see you have also listed the effects used. So I think you have ticked all the boxes.

I would ask that you place a copy of the post with your entry on the "DARE 6 - CELEBRATE THE NEW! " thread. (No need to delete your post here)
All entries should be on that thread.
Plan to use the "discussion" thread for everything else (questions, comments, etc) relating to this dare.

I am going to bed now, but tomorrow will have a look at the original samples you used. I am curious to see how far they have been mangled up. LOL

AlienXXX can I load sounds I get from here into a sampler? Or am I limited to manipulation of them manually?

Yep, you can do whatever you want to the samples, i placed no restrictions on that.

My friend Gremsongs was interested in entering and said he was working on his composition.

Have not spoken to him in a few days, so I am not sure. But I assume he is still on. We should hear from him in the next couple of days

Yes I am still in. But I read the rules which I must have missed the first time. So I have to check my sounds I used to see if they comply.

This is the first dare at freesound for a longtime, and i believe it is the first being run in this format.
Im am not sure if we will have enough entries for voting and i am prepared to be lenient on this first dare (LOL).

OK! That has me feeling much better!! As I'm not really in my element here, I am finding out and learning new tricks to get what I want. I think I am starting to understand what you do when you compose AlienXXX.

Hey Grem,

Well challenging ourselves, trying new things is a great way to learn. So it is great that you are out of your element and seem to be enjoying it a bit.

Playing with samples is VERY different from playing an instrument. In some ways you have way less control... but in others you have much more control.

Maybe I should take my own advice and learn to play the guitar, heh?
Who knows... maybe in the summer I will get some lessons from my brother-in-law.

In the meantime... stick around!
Got a few more dare ideas that will make this one look look easy and boring ! LOOOL
(Think of this one as just an apetizer)
I think a couple of those ideas will REALLY get you going!

I don't want to get too philosofical here... but ok, justa bit... This is what the "dare" concept is all about for me: "TO challenge yourself. To see things differently."

Even if you have been around Freesound for a while... You will never see it the same way again!

Grem, I think Aliexxx is right. It's just the fun. I'm over 50 and made my first dare, and it was not easy, but a lot of fun. and.... I have learned a lot. Next time I do better.... and if not, it is okey toooo.
