Welcome to another (mine first) Freesound Community Dare.
The title and topic of this dare is as follows:
img2snd
Rules are simple:
1. Get some pictures
2. Convert image data to audio data (any way you want!)
3. Tag created sounds with "img2snd" and "dare-22" for easy searching
4. There is no time limit, but don't procrastinate, or you'll never do it!
5. Have fun and be inspired!
Tips for extra joy:
- try how different image file formats behave - remember that compressed formats like PNG or JPG may sound more like noise, while uncompressed files like BMP or RAW will retain cycles and repetitive patterns.
- try how manipulating the image alters the resulting sound - you can post several versions with processing described in the title (eg. "Rose (normal)", "Rose (sharpened), "Rose (motion blurred horizontally)" etc.)
- you can alter the speed of resultng sound for better "exposision"
- if you can - give a link to the image you've used so others can try in in the future
- you can take a picture, draw something or render a 3D scene... even a screenshot of your desktop might be an interesting sound!
Please post your sounds in this thread, and have a nice chat in the other one
I'll start up by sharing some sounds:

This is the hypnotoad-like sound of the image http://olografix.org/groucho/mymusic/img/copyc4t-2.bmp imported in Audacity as raw data, 32bit float, 44.1kHz, recorded to wav via jack_capture, reimported to Audacity to lower the volume and save your ears from the clipfest, and recorded again via jack_capture. This because exporting via Audacity produced a totally different sound than what it plays. (?!?) Also the Freesound player changes the sound, you'll have to download it to hear the true sound.
No other processing done, leading and trailing silence due to me manually starting and stopping Audacity and jack_capture
This pack will contain my contributions:

Two posted tonight. More to come (as time allows)
Hello all. I did a basic image search and found a blog containing a picture of a sound-wave, The discussion was of dance set to harmonica music. I imported the raw data and now that sounds similar to a harmonica. I was lucky.
The image -- it really may have NOT been a wave of a harmonica -- is here: http://momobutoh.blogspot.com/2011/07/for-dad.html
The result is here --> http://www.freesound.org/people/sassyman/sounds/202052/
