Dear fellow Freesounders
I have not exactly been very active on Freesound lately, but I thought now would be a good time to try and start something.
Most of us, will be isolating from others (if not completely, then to a great extent) due to the current corona virus pandemic. Online relations and activities become more important, as we still need to socialise and keep busy but must avoid physical proximity with others.
Many of us who like to record outdoors, may now be confined indoors for the most part.
Music has the power to join and energise people. Staying focus and productive is also important.
I challenge you to record the sounds available to you (kitchen, vacuum cleaner, your garden or balcony...) and to use them to create a music piece. You don't have to use exclusively these sounds, but make sure they are the core of your piece.
If nothing else, this should serve to take your mind other things while you are recording, processing and arranging the sounds into your music piece.
Stay healthy!
And enjoy Freesound!
Great idea! I have a website, where you can get ideas and/or examples, what you can record. Haushaltware. http://haushaltsware.org/
Does anyone else have the thing I've started? I record at least one sound / sample every day. Typically it's sound from an object or doing something. For example, coffee machine making coffee, using printer, writing on computer... anything that makes sound. It may be musical instrument, but not playing with the instrument. For example, I could record someone knocking acoustic guitar, but I will not record the playing of acoustic guitar. Buttons, doorbells, car locks... anything goes. When I'm alone at home, sometimes my project gets crazy. I might record tens of sounds within one day. When my local library bought recorder, I recorded about hunderd samples with it in just a few days. Sometimes I use my phone to record the sounds.
