I double-dare you ALL to make a song using ONLY this sample:

The "twoooooooooot" sound is so amazing.

hey emno85, great song, but...
freesound doesn't really want songs, only samples.
perhaps you could publish it in ccmixter
or maybe on archive.org?
cheers!

Okay, I started something. It's not quite finished but I don't know if I can continue to work on it, so I post it now. Maybe it gives somebody a good laugh, it worked for me

Tried listening, but kept getting "reached end of file" message after a couple of seconds
This is a great sample and its fun to limit yourself. I threw together a short sketch...

In contrast to Bram I especially like the start of your piece. Sounds really far out.
So I used the printer sample, I think I did a pretty good job with it.
I didn't use any effects, I just took the printer, chopped it up and made a beat. I think you'll like it. If you don't, you should.

play "the printer ate my dog"
okay, here's my small contribution...

The mix is no good at all and the overall level is quite poor, I think, but I had so much fun doing this!
thanks for the sound (wich is truly amazing) and the exercise proposal. I love this kinda restrictions too!!
Ok i got a sketch going on too...
it needs a bit of low tension parts in the middle, it goes too much up up up for long time.. so i think it gets annoying...
The synth added sounds at the end were just a guidance for me to see how would it work with a bass etc...
I don't have webspace so i am using yousendit, wich will expire soon. Someone haves some webspace i can borrow for a bit of time, please ? brammie, honey ?

Hi guys
these are great, really varied - you could almost make an album out of them. i like them all but I particularly like Bebops take on it, mostly cos it's very fluid and cos I don't know how you managed to tweak all them sounds out of the rinter.
BTW I used to have one of those printers and listening to it makes me want to go 'AAAAAAARGGGGGGGH' cos it was such a useless printer. however it also makes me want to have a go at making a tune, just to exorcise the ghost....
Nice dare, Bram.

Now some people say I work fast, but I just say I got to go to bed.
Here's my attempt:
http://www.freewebs.com/simondsouza/
It's called Epsom Derby and was done in approx one hour cutting up in Cool Edit Pro and sequenced in FLStudio
Let me know what you think
Cheers
