Hey,
Just a small question about the current license "Sampling+"...
Imagine you downloaded a bassline and put it to a breakbeat and eventually made it into a full instrumental song. Then you wanted to put it on your Myspace or whatever, and maybe on a CD. Or perhaps you wanted to sell it to an up-and-coming performer for them to sing over.
If that sample had the "Sampling+" license, would you have to actually write that it was under that license on your Myspace or CD liner notes? Because one of the terms in "Sampling+" license reads:
-For any reuse or distribution, you must make clear to others the license terms of this work.
Please help!
James.
As I understand it, yes, you have to attribute the author and state that it was licensed under sampling +, unless you reach an outside agreement with the author.
(Although I don't think many people will care about stating the license as long as you attribute their work in some form.)
unless its a royalty free sample...
