i like beer...
Awww, sharin' the love.
hello_flowers
Haha! The Lo-fi revolution!All I have is:
a dusty, OLD-ass Highballer 2 I found in the cupboard below my tv.
a peice of crap olympus voice recorder
bent toys from my closet
a guitar the used to have six strings, but now only has four, I found it in my closet.
Oh, and a turntable and hundreds of my dad's old records
So you can understand why nothing made with that crap ever gets posted here, I use digital synths and stuff, because I can't find a decent noise removal program.
My first submissions to freesound were recorded on a laptop internal microphone and a labtec headset!!! People still ate them up.
Just go ahead and post whatever you come up with... worst that can happen is nobody comments, and the best thing that could happen is that someone gives you constructive feedback.
As for me, the internal microphone on my Canon GL-2 is as fancy as I can get, although I may be able to check out sennheisers and a fostex from my school's equipment room if I need them for a school-related film project.
What I really want is a small recording setup I can take with me everywhere I go... I always hear cool stuff and wish I had a mic handy!
Can i get dinner too? haha
Also you were talking about how he can use the sounds if he credits it correctly. What would happen if you dont credit it correctly? I'm not going to do that, I was just wondering since I'm new here.
Thanks
you get beaten with your left leg...
nah, its breaking the law, so what ever happens when you break copyright issues....court, you end up with no money and such!
If you don't credit properly, you are not permitted to use the material under the creative commons license because you are not meeting the conditions of the license. Then you basically have to treat the material just like any other copyrighted work. You still have fair use rights, but will be breaking the law if you go outside these (generally by making derivative works, publicly displaying/performing the work, making copies, etc.)
And we all automatically stop loving you.
Has anyone been importing .wav files from 'The Freesound Project' into virtual worlds like Second Life? In Second Life, would I just put a sign up somewhere on 'my property' (blanket notification)? Imbed a notice in the same object (motorcycle, clock, waterfall) into which I've imbedded a sound? I simply CANNOT be the only person facing this issue here.... any tips? I doubt I'll get a letter from Dewey Cheatham and Howe if I mess up, but I'd like to avoid hurt feelings and expulsion from the herd... :?:
I've been there.
If it's a sound embeded into an object (and that is what is going to be most of the time) you just add a note to it where u atttribute properly the creator of the sound and that's it. If it's a piece of the landscape, would be cool that the note pops out when touching it, as info.
Things like this have been done already in SL for objects that used CC licenses and the like in them.
I am going to start a thread on SecondLife.
