Sound Enthusiasts,
I just posted a new website of 5,000 free sounds. (http://sounds.beachware.com/index.htm) Now I know it's not as big as the 25,000 sounds here, but you can never have too many sounds! And I expect that many of our sounds will get resampled and combined and end up here anyway.
Basically I have to decided to take our commercial product "A Zillion Sounds 2.0" and post it online for free non-commercial usage. The sounds are organized into 70 different categories and each sound has associated keywords on each unique web page. They are all in MP3 format at 22k mono.
If you want to use the sounds for commercial work, then you need to buy the collection as a PC or Mac download, or CD-ROM for $19.95. The big advantage here is that we created and recorded all the sounds and you don't have to worry about copyrighted clips. And there are no ongoing royalties or stringent source statement rules. Over the years many game developers have used this collection for game sound effects. And you can even find all the animal sounds in the old program Claris Works for Kids.
Since I just posted this website, I would love to get some feedback. I tried to make it easy and useful to use, but I'm always open to suggestions.
Thanks,
Tom
