Hi,
First off, hopefully I am putting this in the right forum.
I have a question about Freesound. Sometimes Firefox doesn't cooperate with freesound too well, and I was thinking, instead of going into a web browser to use it, maybe there could be an application that would do all of the searching and display it in a list. You could preview, download, view tags and sample packs, or add a comment or rating. Then you wouldn't even need to use a web browser for it. Maybe you could go to the source page of the sound effect on the site if you wanted, which you'd obviously need a browser for.
Being visually impaired, the sight is just a bit difficult to use, I can use it pretty well but the pages just have a lot on them. I think an application for it would be a good option.
What does everyone think?
Well, there are several. I went to download a sound, and for some reason Firefox was closing every time I tried to go to the page. I could preview it fine but it wouldn't download. Also, with the newest version of Sea Monkey and Firefox both, after a few previews the browser would just start acting weird and not doing anything until I closed it. Either that or it would crash. Both browsers are mozilla browsers, so I assumed they'd act the same way which they did.
I downgraded seamonkey down to version 2.02, I believe the latest is 2.4. After downgrading, it worked for awhile until I updated Flash, at which point it started messing up again. The only thing left is to reinstall the new version now that I updated Flash, which I haven't gotten around to yet.
I'll try it soon and post back. Hopefully that is the answer.
What version of Firefox are you using?
I use vs 7, but also with 6 already, clicking download was working well!
On Mac as well as on Windows XP and 7.
If it's not working, click right and save destination as...

I use to have several problems with Firefox 5.x, so definitly update firfox to the latest.
Hi,
I will definitely make sure I have everything upgraded. The problem was, at least for me, with some sounds it wouldn't even let me go to the download page. I'd click on the sound in the search results, and then it would close or crash.
But after I upgrade, things may change.
