I was watching Children of Men and heard the sample...
Friendly freesounder "6am" just brought it to my attention that the major motion picture Children of Men uses a Freesound sample, and properly credits the sample! You can see for yourself from this image that was sent to me. The sound in question is the "male loud scream" from thanvannispen. This is quite an amazing first! Go go freesound power!! And congratulations thanvannispen.
For a limited time only you can too...
Context: Two actors are sitting in a loungeroom (smoking pot) relaxing and one turns on some 'zen music' ... the scream is supposedly part of the music track. You can hear the lead actor laugh when he hears how wierd this 'zen' music is

A good movie, but I wish I could listen to the entire "zen" track Oh well, I suppose I'll wind up making my own own of these days...
Oh THAT's where it was used!!
I saw the movie and kept listening for the scream in the violent sequences.
Damn!
That "zen music" is actually a pretty significant part of the scene. Later it serves as the house alarm... but I don't want to spoil the film!

As all of us had, I suppose, I had heard the sample here first. I had forfotten about it, I was watching the movie and it just jumped out at me. I said, 'I know that sound'...

Can't wait for my satellite company to bring it to PPV so I can beam it in from space and watch it.
by the way, the part of the music that is the "slappy" and "swishy" "beats" is from the song, 'omgyjya-switch7', from the musician aphex twin (real name: richard d james), i was greatly suprised and pleased when i heard this in the theatre... i guess that's all i wanted to say!
