Hello everyone,
does anyone know of a good sound effects programme for the mac which is free i.e something where I can play around with putting echo or reverb onto the sound
and....
does anyone know of a good effects programme that warms up the sound to make it sound like a valve analogue sound as if you had shot it using film.
Any help of course, much appreciated.
You can start with Audacity then you can look On this forum (particularly the "sticky" posts) to find all the effects you want. And here is another list of effects.
I looked but there seems to be so many effects programmes. Does anyone know of a simple to use one and something to warm up the sound so it sounds analogue? Many thanks.
If you're willing to part with some cash, I recommend the Antares Microphone Modeler plug-in. I think it will provide the results you're looking for.
In the effect window there are two columns listing a grunch (technical term) of mics out on the market. One column you choose the mic that you used to record with (e.g., Shure SM-57) and then the other column, you choose the mic you wished you had (e.g., Neumann U-87 Gold). The plug-in allows modification of the proximity effect to the mic (closer yields more bass response). And, at the bottom of the effect window, is a slider that allows introduction of how much tube-like warming effect you'd like to use to modify your output sound.
Furthermore, Antares updates the list of mic models available on their website for download every now and then.
Hope this helps.
