hi, everyone!
i just signed up and uploaded my first library, and wanted to say hello to all of you!
as befits a new member, i thought i'd contribute something some of you might find useful - the icefield library:
http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/packsViewSingle.php?id=3359
these samples were made two winters ago by me:
1. getting up at 5 a.m. hock:
2. driving to the nearby lake cospuden (near leipzig in germany) which was frozen solid at the time
3. fixing a soundman okm2-pair to the lake's surface with the aid of some hair-gel
4. flicking stones and pebbles across the ice and
5. recording the result
the files are stereo, 48k and 24 bit, and i've had a lot of fun with them, so it's time to share...
for really off-the-wall results, try timestretching some of the "ski..."-samples with a really crappy algorythm ...
i'll be busily uploading in the next couple of days, so watch out if you've liked this!
a lot of the stuff i've recorded i've also produced as ready-playable sample-sets in the sf2 format. you'll find them here as wav's, but if you want them ready to play for your sampler, i'll post links to the sf2-files here in the forum.
have a nice day and see you soon!

I moderated them and immediately was playing around with the pack. Sounds a lot like my "breaking ice" pack too:

That one was made breaking up ice in half-cylinder metal water-container used for giving water to cows.
Ice can sound sooooooooooo awesome.

nice to know there's other folks around who share my mental affliction...
