Maybe a silly question... maybe it has been done before...
But with the Freesound change to new servers, it just made me think about this again.
What is the sound of Freesound?
Maybe one of the guys from the tech team could record the humming sound of the Freesound servers?
That would be the true sound of Freesound !
Maybe you can record it also next time you upgrade to new servers - and you would get a little record of the different 'voices' of Freesound over time.
If you really wanna go crazzy... use a telephone tap coil or similar and pickup the sound of the actual data flowing through the server
Just a thought guys... please forgive me: it is early sunday morning and I am probably not fully awake yet...
(... where's that coffee?...)
Good morning,
you mean what this kind of stuff sounds like? I'm afraid it might not make much noise, if at all

But I thought you were going to propose to users a poll/contest for a Freesound 'logo' sound... which might be interesting, maybe...
D
edit: I'd like this one:

Hi guys. Actually, every time I go to the data center I think of that. The noise is very loud with all the servers and air conditioning. The data center has all the servers of the UPF campus where we work, so it's not only freesound, but the sound is cool, we'll upload it one day!

Actually that's not such a bad idea! Freesound should have a logo sound, after all sound is an essential part, kind of
