Hello freesounders,
we started the Experimental Sound Lab project.
We are collecting our favorite packs on Freesound to create a 100% free library (i.e. no non-commercial licenses). Then, we are going to compile a collaborative album created out of the sounds included in the library. Thus, we aim to reach new horizons in co-creation.
The library as well as the album will be presented during 2014 in different countries. The first in joining the project are:
Harvestworks (New York, US)
Niu (Barcelona, Spain)
Netlabelism (Ghent, Belgium)
If you think you have a particularly cool or interesting pack on Freesound post it here.
We also launched an open call for new sounds to contribute to the Freesound community. The packs received through the open call will be published in our freesound account. If you want to publish your pack in our account, follow these guidelines to send us your sounds.
Looking forward to hear your sounds and suggestions.
Thanks
Thalamus Lab

There was a technical issue preventing uploads in the last 2 days. Now resolved
I would like to submit this pack to your consideration:
http://www.freesound.org/people/AlienXXX/packs/13296/
Please note this pack is still live and I am adding sounds to it, more or less on a daily basis until possibly end of Dec 2013. (still cutting up the results of the recording session).
When the pack is complete it will say so on the pack description.
Great sounds! Thank you for posting your pack AlienXXX. We will include it in the ESL.
We assume all packs are live in Freesound and they might be extended or modified. We are keeping a copy of each pack at the time we publish each one of them in case any sound or the whole pack is deleted. We can wait till the pack is completed to publish it, just let us know when it is ready.
This first pack is complete. I will not add further sounds to it.
I have at least another 100 sounds from that sound creation session, but will add them to other pack(s).
This keeps packs relatively small (for those without ultra-fast internet connections) and also means that people downloading this pack now are sure to get that full set.
I will post in this thread when I create additional packs that I want to submit to the Thalamus Lab collection.
Need more sound based on drums
Here are two old packs that contains some absolutely insane sounds.
http://www.freesound.org/people/AlienXXX/packs/10252/
http://www.freesound.org/people/AlienXXX/packs/9371/
The second pack here is actually only 1 sound. A very large one.
Best to download it as a pack so it comes as a zipped file.
You will have to look within that long recording and find the interesting sounds. There are plenty of them.
I submit these two packs here because they contain sounds that are unusual or have been generated in an unusual way.
@AlienXXX Thank you again
@anand888 We appreciate very much your suggestion. In fact we have been talking about this. We think drum sounds or drum machine sounds are quite common in sound libraries and we are looking for uncommon sounds. We believe there is already enough percussive sounds in the ESL to create beats. What do you think?
If we find some interesting drum sounds we may add them, could you propose any pack you are missing?
These sounds of trains!
@juskiddink
Thank you! We already have selected sounds from Felix, the first pack is his Electricity pack.
@iamalone
We don't find it, perhaps he removed it? Can you post the link?
Thanks for provide us such good sounds and free for our projects!

Soon we will start to collect tracks for a collaborative album.
We are waiting to hear your productions!
This sounds like an interesting project idea. If it's not too late to submit a pack I have one that I'm more than willing to share. http://www.freesound.org/people/CadereSounds/packs/14068/
