Hey guys I need some advice, I am currently adding a few low pitched ambiance sounds to a short film Im editing. I have a problem that I need some advice with, while listening to it through my headphones it sounds great but most viewers will be watching/listening through there laptop/computer standard speakers which struggle to play the low frequencies. Is there anything I can do to make the sounds play with standard speakers? (with out having to find new clips)
Look at some of my sounds
The problem is you are working with small speakers that are unable to accurately play back low frequencies. It a product of the size of the speaker. You can try to amplify them but you could introduce distortion. The best option would be to try and eq out some of the really low frequencies and then raise the level, you'll still get a sense of the ambience but by reducing the really low end spectrum frequencies you'll be at less risk of distorting the speakers when you play them back.
