Hi all,

Have any of you ever seen anyone else out recording? I don't mean television crews and the like but sound recordists, either an individual or a crew out capturing sound effects? Did you talk to them? Give them a wide birth so as not to disturb them? Even more unlikely, have you bumped into a recordist trying to record the same thing as you?

Hope this isn't an inappropriate place for such a question.

Oh, sure!
Twice, if I'm correct.
Once I met a guy with a H4n at the Aareschlucht Canyon in Switzerland.
I think he was Italian. We smiled and wished each other a nice day before we moved on.
And in London I was sitting in a Pret-a-Manger and outside the window was a fellow with a blimp and something that looked like a Sound Devices, recording the traffic, I suppose.

I have - although I try not to disturb them, I often just acknowledge what they are doing and either smile or give them a thumbs up.

I'm in London so its quite common to see people filming or capturing sound.
