Hi everyone. I'm new to Freesound and this is my first post. I've got a request that I'm hoping someone can help me out with.

I'm planning to put together an art installation this summer for my masters thesis that highlights the social problems of the fast-fashion industry. I'm working on a sculpture with a mannequin that resembles the kind of display that you might see in a clothing store window.

What I'd like to have is a catchy 2-3 minute techno song like you'd hear while shopping at Forever 21 or H&M;, but I'd like some or all of the rhythm to be composed of garment factory sounds:
-clanging machines
-sewing machines
-angry man yelling in an indecipherable language
-some wailing or crying
-also could have the beeping of a scanner at checkout
-could have shopping mall sounds (please no grocery store sounds)

I would credit you on the wall label and in any documentation. I could also send video documentation for your portfolio. I am not a music composition person, but I can gather sounds with my HandyRecorder if it would be helpful. Thanks in advance for your help and guidance.

How soon do you need this? This could be a really cool idea for a dare. I'll talk to one of the freesound moderators and see if perhaps more people can be exposed to this post.

Hi yg9. Thanks for considering this project! I think the best way for us to exchange sounds and music is to post them to FreeSound and link to them in this forum. I will try to set aside some time this week to record some sounds and post them here. Part of the difficulty I'm having is not being able to find suitable sounds such as a realistic sounding sewing machine. Let's keep in touch here. I am very interested in what you can do.

Hey afleetingspeck, I won't be setting up my art installation until a week or two into July, so there is plenty of time to turn this into a dare. I could even use more than one techno track for the installation.

I didn't mention before, but the artwork (and techno tracks) will be shown at MassArt's Bakalar gallery in Boston.

That's neat. One of the things that came up when I put forth this idea was running concurrent dares. If you've got that much time, I think we can turn this into one. I'll also try to do something in the meanwhile.

Not exactly what you are asking i'm trying to find the original cause it sounds more like what you're talking about.
