i currently browse & listen a lot in freesound project,
and i see that a lot sounds haven't been voted yet - which is sad.
even the "don't forget to vote" when playing doesn't help...
but what actually makes the voting still slower / harder to use than necessary is to click trice! not once, not twice but trice. and the second click also involves a lot of hand/eye coordination when you want to do it in short time.
first you click on the drop-down-list, then you search and click for the amount you want to vote and third you have to click on vote.
thats anoying and unecessary - youst have 10 stars or whatever displayed in a continues row (as already done after voting) and a click on one of the stars casts the vote for the amount the star stands for.
make the stars different colored or draw some boxes arround them to make it easy to see what amount the star is for (i.e. make a small black line between every second and third star and make a big line after the fourth and the 8th).
this should be easy to implement and would help to make the use of voting boost a lot ...
a) you click way less
b) its easier and faster to see what amount you want to give (people have to think about the numbers displayed vertically in the listbox before they can click on it)
thanks for reading!

ps: also its very unclear what the amount of stars means. but thats a totally different topic. is it absolute or relativ to the authors other work? where do good grades start - similiar to imdb? at 6.0 or similiar to video & pc game magazines at 8.0 or similiar to metacritic at aprox 7.0 ? you wanna make that clear to the user in order for him to do usefull voting!
