These look like spam accounts to me ...
http://freesound.org/people/hessjefferson39/
http://freesound.org/people/thyboelmore8/
http://freesound.org/people/donnellynoble9/
http://freesound.org/people/soelberg36reid/
https://freesound.org/people/kirkpatrickmays81/
https://freesound.org/people/carstensenfoldager75/
These accounts are easy to detect automatically by freesound.
1] if the user exists between 2 and 48 hours.
and
2] profile text is longer than 100 words.
Then it's probably a spam account.
3] Profile will include a URL.
4] Zero uploads or downloads.
If the profile contains a URL & there are no downloads or uploads, don't display the profile.
I'm not saying automatically delete their profile, just don't make it visible to anyone other than its creator, until they download or upload, then make it visible.

Hello guys
Thank you for reporting these suspected Spammers.
I am passing the obvious spammers to the Admins for deletion.
Not sure if this one is a Spammer.

Hi everybod,
Yes, this is what I was trying to highlight around 4 months ago.
Extracts from my rants -
"......... This new type of AI spam may not be as immediately annoying, but it does severely dilute our great forums and is going to grow exponentially in the near future as it gets even more sophisticated. I can see a point in a few years time when only 1-2% of posts are worth reading and everybody gives up. Right now I really enjoy following many of the threads when I log on daily. Every now and then I join in if I think I have something useful to say. I would be very sad if that changed. I love freesound and all the interesting people I've met - but will never meet in person."
and
"........ Clicking the link doesn't actually do much harm other than waste our time. They don't expect to get any trade from these forums. The link is there purely to be counted by googlebot and the other search engines. If they get enough links out on the web the site rises up the rankings and might end up on page 1 or 2 on google search instead of languishing on page 378462. That's where their business comes from. Company’s spend millions with these marketing firms to improve their search rankings and they do this by automated spamming. Not a hugely intrusive problem at the moment, just an irritation, but it will be a problem if the ratio of spam to real content gets to 50-50 say, or even higher. It's a race to the bottom; As a Company’s competitors use these tricks to up exposure the pressure is on them to do even more of it themselves and it soon becomes a chain reaction. "
There are more posts I ranted in, but here are 2

I'm sure there are computer/smartphone apps appearing that allow small users to generate this spam as well without having to spend money on sophisticated IT PR firms. Unfortunately I think the rules on new users have to change in some way to stop gigabytes of Freesound server capacity being hijacked for free publicity.

Hi,
Thanks for reporting that.
We'll try to implement some measures to prevent this from happening.
We can probably limit whether the profile is shown or not based on some activity to be carried out on the site.
Cheers,
