Hi there, love Freesound ... i would like to make donations directly to freesound contributors if possible ... maybe with a ten percent ratio going directly to freesound? not sure if this is possible but i didn't find a button on any pages.

Also like the idea of contributing directly to Freesound for sure, although the ability to donate directly to contributors would be immediately a more attractive idea to my own sense of donating.

There is no system in place for user specific donations, but you can donate to Free sound on their main page, I think the best way to donate to specific contributors would be to contact the user personally through the site's private message system and give them your proposal in which they will respond to you telling you how to do so, this way you know the contributor will receive the money you send them.

very cool ... i think there would be a lot of donations if there were a simple javascript donate button option on each page for each contributor ... anyway it was just a quick thought, not sure if it is a great idea or not .. cheers for the reply

I had suggested an alternative 'Donate' button to be added on to every sound page, but instead it would simply be for donations to Freesound to help with their recent campaign.

Perhaps an additional option to donate to the user could also work via PayPal, but I would suggest that the % split of the donation going to Freesound should be higher than 10% (or perhaps the user can set their own ratio, with a baseline set by the admins?)

Then again, there are a lot of users that have set up donation links should anyone want to donate to that user, so as to whether development time should be spent on making this is a little clouded (though I believe it is open-source on Github at the moment? So perhaps it is possible!)

Either way, I think that adding a donate button to each sound page is a must do for raising awareness to the donate page.

yes, true, maybe even 50/50 ratio share of the donation..

if the button is the paypal yellow and up high to the right in the same place always, it would gently provide a very cognitivally linked option to showing gratitude directly to the creator, and to freesound.. i just think more donations would naturally happen this way.

i watched a documentary on these very cool Amazonian tribal elders and their people in 2004 ... the elder turned to the camera halfway through the program, and said any young men or women looking to thrive and be abundant, look to the river and the forest, understand how they both work, and that will be the basis for their own vocational uplifting activities.
