Hi guys,
I'm currently working on my short film. And I'm wondering if I can use FreeSound in my film? It will be published online and also submitted to some festivals for screenings. I'm not sure if I can use the audio here without any copyright concerns.
Read our Licensing FAQ to see how you should attribute sounds in your film: https://freesound.org/help/faq/#licenses
In short, yes, you can use the sounds, but depending on the license that the uploading user chose, you may have to acknowledge them in your film credits.
You can also refine your searches by license using the right-hand refinement terms. I strongly prefer Creative Commons 0 ("public domain") sounds, so I use the link after running a search to narrow the license to CC0. I also only license my own sound work as CC0 so others can benefit from my efforts without limitation.
By the way, could a license refinement be added to the advanced search?
