Good morning, everybody,
I just discovered freesound really by chance (I was looking for something else and the link came out). I clicked out of curiosity, but I must admit I'm more and more intrigued.
I don't really understand how it works: in the absolute, what exactly is it for? is freesound a platform dedicated to sound creators? are these sounds intended for a particular use like resale if it has been validated by the community or something like that?
Thank you in advance for taking the time to educate me. Have a good weekend everyone.
Hi there
You can think of Freesound as a database of royalty free sounds you can download and use in projects. These sounds are licensed under one of 3 Creative Commons licenses which are designed to allow people to share their work on the internet and retain some rights to their own works.
It's a bit like a royalty free stock footage database but for audio. Anyone can create an account and upload sounds as long as they follow our guidelines.
To read more about creative commons licenses and our guidelines for uploading/usage please go to the FAQ here: https://freesound.org/help/faq/

Have fun!
Wow, that's really great. I did well to follow my curious little voice. Very, very good to know.
I'm going to take a closer look
Thank you very much.
