Hi,
if your goal is to make something sound as if reproduced by a phonograph, you might get there mostly with a band-pass filter or EQ; check Audacity's "Telephone" preset in the "Filter Curve..." effect (Effects menu).
Try different shapes for the bandwidth and the steepness of the roll-offs.
I want to make an IR-file in the same way what is done with guitar-speaker-cabinets. In stead of a cabinet I want to use an old phonograph horn. I am wondering what I could use as a small speaker/driver for the horn.
The second part of "the project" is how to simulate the soundeffect of the needle, wow and flutter and the record.
