i found freesound this morning through google whilst searching for an mp3 of a nightingale song. i see about a hundred new members a day joining now. i also see banners are at em114 and kvr - membership has gone ballistic! so how did how did you find this place?

well, I switched on my computer at work one day and there it was! all the code that makes the freesound project was on my hard drive! I was amazed, uploaded it to a server and zoinks, there it was.

no seriously, that's a good question, where did you (yes you there) find out about freesound?

It's strange how slow the freesound community grows. Lot's of people come in, read and download, but very few join in... There's a few regular users, but not that many. So, be patient, you'll get some replies.

To be honest, I don't remember how I found freesound, probably looking for porn samples via google....
speaking of which, I will upload a porn set, but not this side of christmas....way too busy man!

The net is one strange beast...people don't want to be more than a mere shadow of themselves...there might be comfort in that.

A friend told me about this site - i don't know how he found it, but he find everything on the net. Probably looking for samples (i don't believe porn samples...)

From what I read it looks like the new copyright law in France (but French laws become Spanish sooner or later) will be so restrictive that anything without Digital Rights Management will become illegal... From making an mp3 of a CD you own to distributing your music or even free software. What the *uck, is everybody gone crazy!?. I'm quite alarmed.

and as for the 10 million linux users worldwide, suddenly the french would be a law apart? how would they deal with sharing existing free software? managewment of this seems a trifle tricky.
