Hi,

I have been using this site for quite awhile with another login downloading sounds for game making purposes when working on the sound design which it has been very very useful for.

Alternatively however I am new to being a contributor. Since joining and uploading i have found the moderating very random as of late as my initial sounds were moderated very very fast but now my new sounds are sitting still not moderated. 5 more sounds I've recorded with 5 days counting on the oldest ones not being published yet.

I have read another thread about this issue sometime in the past on the forum however it is kind of vague and confusing regarding timeframe on when the sounds will eventually get moderated just that it would be when people get around to your place in the list. So i understand a lot of sounds getting uploading all the time and only so many moderators however I'm just curious that quite a few music and sound bite clips are getting moderated since my ones... maybe they are all before me on the moderating waiting list or perhaps made by people with moderating authority who can green light that the clips aren't dodgy straight away i don't know.

To end i just find it a bit odd that no one has commented or made a thread in the forum recently about this so just wanted to make sure there wasn't a bug with my account or something?

If someone could please clarify it would be much appreciated

Firstly thanks for contributing to the site

Yes, it is kinda random, and it just depends on how active the moderators are at any given time period, sometimes more than others. Recently it's been quite busy with uploads and some moderators are away from time to time. The amount of new sounds coming in is always fluctuating.

I think the reason why you haven't seen a topic created recently about the slow moderation is because most people have largely come to accept this sometimes rather sluggish human process of checking sounds, so they don't feel the need to raise it as an issue.

There are only a handful of moderators. It's actually not as straight forward as you might think, and although significant improvements have been introduced to speed up the process, so have the amount of daily uploads.

I fully understand now I just wanted to make sure there wasn't an error with my user or something.

The site is an amazing tool for many people to take from and contribute. Its perfectly understandable about the moderators and amount of sounds being uploaded etc. I imagine it is a big job especially as its done manually and voluntarily as well.

Regarding uploading i know to just wait from now on for the back log of sounds I upload to get moderated as time may vary as you say.

Anyway cheers for replying its much appreciated

As i mentioned it is such a fantastic asset of a site for people worldwide. Whether using or contributing or both... everybody wins! Thanks again to the mods i have a better understanding now of the hard work that goes into running this wonderful site.
