Hey guys and Moderators,I have a really bad problem.
I had a massive amount of sound that I had downloaded from the site and my drive went dead.
Is there away that the Moderators can send me a list of everything that I download from the site ?
There must be a record of who downloaded what and if there is then I can just download everything again.
Please help because my slave drive where everything was kept shows up in the windows explorer but when I click on it it now sez F:\ is not accessible
The wrong diskette is in the drive.
Insert (volume serial number into F:\.
Before this happened for several days everytime I would turn on the machine CHKDSK would run and start scanning drive F but afterwards I had access to the drive.
Now it doesn't run CHKDSK but boots up normally but without access to the drive.
Please Help.
Hi adamstrange.
This page http://www.freesound.org/usersDownloads.php?id=161066 tells me you downloaded 2929 files and lists them.
Real bad luck losing a hard disc. Hope you've got some time to spare for rebuilding your database.
Good luck!
OH MAN.....THANK YOU SO MUCH.
I have a 300GB drive and it shows up in the windows explorer but when I try to access it I get this error-
F:\ is not accessible
The wrong diskette is in the drive.
Insert (volume serial number into F:\.
I'm trying to figure out how to retrieve the files and the bad part was that in 2 days I was going to have enough cash to buy DVD+RW discs to back up all the really important stuff on it like over 36GB worth of sounds.
Is there anyway that I can download all of my sounds in one shot instead of one by one ?

Anyhoo, good luck.
i found that out the hard way as well . . . .the best way to recover stuff is to either buy a usb to sata/ide/2.4 and plug it into another computer running windows, it may or may not show up, or reinstall (ON A DIFF DRIVE!) and then open your pc up and stick it in as a slave when its already loaded (without electrocuting yourself) depending on How bad it went you might need to forensically recover it with like knoppix or something but it might work to just plug and play it. . . . hehe it's the advantage of having 4 computers indefinitely! I have recovered a few EX HD's by ripping them out of the case and plug and playing them, good luck! and make sure if you back up onto dvd you VERIFY all the data after! (I too have been screwed by this as well!)
Thanks for your help guys.
