Hello, I have been working on a few ambient industrial "songs" in the style of Nurse With Wound (I'm not sure if any one here knows who that is but this seems like that type of group that might). I'm just starting out with this stuff, I've put in the ID tag of the mp3's the name of the people (at least there user name) and what sample I've used. This is all for my own use and for a few friends to listen to and tell me what they think, so far though its been getting extremely positive feedback, to the point where I'm getting told to start up a site.
What I was wondering do I have to contact each person and ask them to use it or what? The only reason I'm using pre-done samples is because I don't have any thing to go out and do recordings with, and on that note does any one have any recommendations on what to buy to get a good start.
Thank you for any feed back. I just don't want to piss any one off and have some one down my throat over some thing like this.

As far as i'm aware, you need to attribute all the samples you use in your compositions, to the relevant creator of those samples. Then make that list publically available. You can find all the info you need for attributing using the link on the left "attribution list " which should give you all the info you need to include.
Regarding equipment, take a good look at the production techniques forum, plenty of similar requests and info. It all depends on what you require really, real life stuff or synthetic sounds ? usually both! anyhoo folks on here tend to be helpful.
Good luck with the Nurse With Wound stuff, got anything online to listen to?
