Hi all.
I'm attempting to wrap up the credits on our new album release and I've been trying to notify Freesound contributors by Private Messages so they can adjust their credit information if they choose to. (Some people want to be credited by name rather than by their Freesound handle).
The problem is that most of the requests are still sitting in my Outbox where they've been since mid-May. No doubt I've hit some kind of anti-spam measure.
How are others handling this situation? Are people using the forum for this?
(Sorry if I've missed a sticky somewhere...)

If you are using the samples in accordance with the CC1.0 licence, e.g. you dont need further permission from the creator to use the sound in a commercial application, then Id suggest that you just use their Freesound tag in the credit if they dont reply to your personal message after a couple of months, (check their Freesound home page for any special instructions about accreditation and any alternative method of contacting them).
Yes, I'm aware that I can credit using Freesound monikers only. I just think it's considerate to give contributors the option of a real name rather than "5mp1ki113rz". If I don't hear back, I simply use the Freesound moniker.
But I don't quite understand what you're saying about active contributors. Are you saying that if someone is no longer active then my emails will sit in my outbox for weeks on end? (It's not that I'm waiting weeks for replies. It's that I'm waiting weeks for the emails to actually leave my account and head to someone else's.)

The Freesound personal message only leaves your outbox" when someone picks up their messages,
i.e. when the message is opened (and hopefully read) by the recipient it is no longer shown in your "outbox".
