I have written an Android app (a ticking clock) as my first Android project and would like to distribute in in the Android Market.

However after reading section 3a part ii in the legal notice:

Your Derivative Work(s) must only make a partial use of the original Work, or if You choose to use the original Work as a whole, You must either use the Work as an insubstantial portion of Your Derivative Work(s) or transform it into something substantially different from the original Work. In the case of a musical Work and/or audio recording, the mere synchronization ("synching" of the Work with a moving image shall not be considered a transformation of the Work into something substantially different.

I am not sure if what I am doing is allowed.

Basically, I download a repeating tick-tock sound. I then used Audacity to extract a single 'tick' noise and a single 'tock' noise. I then play the tick and tock noises at appropriate moments in my clock app.

This is the first time that I have done anything like this and would just like some reassurance I guess.

I think you just answered your own question.

That is derivative and partial.

Sounds OK to me.

Hi...I am doing an exam for my university.
it is a video with comments of mine and some music taken from freesound. my teacher wants to upload it in internet and I was wandering where I can find a licence that allowed it, of course no commercial.
