Greetings, everyone. A relative newbie.
First, let me say that this is not being posted to ask whether I can sample copyrighted songs; it's become pretty clear to me that I shouldn't if I want to be successful, especially so since I'm into game soundtracks.
Rather, I'm convinced that at least some of the sounds that have been uploaded are copyrighted samples, as tempting as some of their use would be. For instance, earlier I downloaded some drum samples. While I do want to use these samples, the waveform displays for them (a kick and a snare) in Audacity are virtually, if not completely, identical to the kick and snare in Led Zeppelin's "When the Levee Breaks". Plus, I seriously doubt copyrighted samples are switched to CC when uploaded to here.
Any advice? To be frank, I actually do want to use copyrighted sounds under the condition that they were precleared, like a legal alternative to the Zero-G Datafile libraries, but I'm really not sure if that's possible.
... and here it is!
