Hello alltogether,
i have a question, how can i attribute the use of downloaded freesound samples for song-releases on iTunes. I would like to use some of the freesound samples for my new album release on iTunes but in a correct and legal way (without violating the creative commons license).
Can the attribution maybe be a part of the MP3 Tag ?
Maybe somebody here already used freesound samples for iTunes song releases ?
Thanks for your information in advance
Best regards
Electro
Perhaps you can put the attributions in the comments section of the ID3v2 (MP3) Tag?
Of if you make extensive use of something like a vocal or bassline/drumloop, you could say (feat. TicTacShutup) or whoever in the song title, if you want to give them extra cred.
Hi,
OK that means, it is sufficient to use the credit statement in the COMMENTS Tag of the MP3.
That is no problem, then i'll do so.
Thanks for your help,
best regards

No problem. If you have a webpage about the album, I encourage you to attribute there as well.
But the MP3 comments tag is about the closest thing to virtual "liner notes" you can get, so I think it will be fine.

As far as the Album will be released i will post the attribution also in the Promo on my myspace site.
I'll also post the iTunes Link here in the Forum as far as it will be released ( that'll be hopefully my second album release ... )
Thanks again and my respect for your super Project and site!
best regards
